I had a lot of fun making these sculptures. They’re for anyone who’s ever locked eyes with a dog across the street and felt like something in the day just shifted. Whether they live with us or pass through our orbit, dogs have a magical way of showing up right when we need them, even if we didn’t know we did.

There’s something quietly radical about how dogs love. They don’t care what kind of day you’re having, what you look like, or who you’re trying to be. They’re just there—curious, present and at times slightly chaotic. For a lot of people, especially marginalised ones, that kind of steady presence means more than we tend to say out loud.

These works are about all kinds of dogs: the stubborn ones, the scruffy ones, the ones who act like tiny celebrities on their daily walk, The Mutts.. Some are based on the dogs I know, others on those quick street encounters that somehow stick with you—a tail wag, a pause, a moment of quiet recognition.

August, with International Dog Day and National Dog Month, feels like the right time to celebrate them. Dogs don’t ask much. They just remind us to be in the moment, to keep going, and to maybe take the long way home.

U-RECKEN’S STORY:

As a dedicated psychedelic artist, U-Recken has long captured the true essence of intelligent, psychedelic, soulful psytrance.

His musical journey began with the now-classic debut album Aquatic Serenade (2006), followed by Deeper into Man (2008). After joining Belgium-based Dacru Records in 2011, U-Recken released a string of acclaimed works, including A Light at the End of the World (2013), Flames of Equilibrium, and Nothing is Sacred (2017), along with numerous EPs and singles that continue to resonate on dancefloors worldwide.

In 2026, U-Recken celebrates 20 years of the project, kick-starting a global anniversary tour with a special return to Australia – the same place he first toured back in 2006. Known for closing countless doofs & festivals with unforgettable DJ sets, U-Recken’s deep understanding of dancefloor dynamics has earned him a reputation as a highly skilled and emotionally impactful DJ.

Beyond the stage, Yaniv Ben Ari (U-Recken) is also a visionary entrepreneur and community builder. He co-founded the Tree of Life Festival in the picturesque mountains of Turkey and launched innovative platforms like FeedFreq & BigFreq Academy.

Two decades in, U-Recken is still evolving- and, in many ways, just getting started.

To honour 60 years of The Doors, CHI WOW WAH CITY proudly presents an immersive Tribute Experience led by DJ, producer, and longtime Doors devotee Uone. Uone will be performing a 90-minute audio-visual journey reimagines classics like Riders on the Storm, LA Woman, People Are Strange, Light My Fire and more—each remixed, re-edited, and resurrected with Uone’s signature psychedelic, four-to-the-floor style.

But this is no ordinary tribute.
